Healing Light Counselling
Susanne Hunter, Salt Spring Island
I’m so glad you’re here!
I have been passionate about finding what makes people happy, fulfilled and confident in their lives since I was a young adult. I studied medicine and wondered “Where in all this is the soul of the people?” I learned psychosomatic approaches of medicine. And while I worked as a young doctor, I took a postgraduate counselling training. Western medicine was not my calling. I moved from Germany to the West Coast of Canada in my early 30’s and shifted my professional career to counselling. I have worked as a counsellor in private practice ever since.
My search for the soul in us led me to explore different modalities of healing and took me on a deep inner journey. And I found what I was looking for – feeling our soul connectedness as people, our interconnectedness with each other and all that exists. I got a deep understanding of our shared human patterns that move through the lineages of our families, our ethnic groups and our collective human history.
In my work as a counsellor, as an author and workshop facilitator I hold this knowledge close to my heart as I work with others who just like me are travelling this journey of our human life.

Inner Freedom
“INNER FREEDOM” is the result of decades of my therapeutic work with people, helping them heal their traumas and shift their learned and inherited limiting patterns and beliefs.
Whether you are working on yourself on your own or with the support of a counsellor this book is a great support for your steps along the way. So many clients have told me “I wish I had known this years ago.”
If you have been trying to feel better, get out of unwanted patterns and life situations, but nothing you tried had a lasting effect, this book is for you. “Inner Freedom” offers information that is immensely valuable for navigating your inner emotional world. It shows you doable steps to shift challenging relationship situations. It guides you in finding the sources of what is unfulfilling in your life. It takes you by the hand in changing deep seated patterns and beliefs that don’t serve you anymore. So you can live the life you have wanted for some time.
Always love yourself!
When my daughter and her friend were old enough to write and climb trees, they created these steps of wisdom on this cedar tree. A beautiful reminder for everyone walking by.
Feeling disconnected from ourselves and having critical, harsh inner voices is an immense source of unhappiness and causes us to lose energy. So many of us learned these inner voices through relational trauma growing up, losing our sense of self-love, self-care and self-kindness.
Always loving yourself – no matter what your inner or outer experience is – is one of the most important steps on your healing journey. It’s a coming back to the selflove we had when we were little. It is a reconnecting to the unconditional and unchanging love of our soul.
